Abstract

  • The body of an abstract is limited to 2500 characters including spaces. An abstract that exceeds this limit will be returned to the author.
  • Abstracts must not include any tables/figures/references.
  • Original research abstracts must use the following format: Introduction & Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Acknowledgment of research grants and facilities.
  • If applicable, Case reports must use the following format: Background, Case Summary and Conclusions and Acknowledgment of research grants and facilities.
  • The abstracts will be published as received. Hence it is the author’s responsibility to follow the prescribed format and check the abstracts for accuracy, grammar, and spelling. Poorly worded abstracts will be rejected.

Authors and Affiliation:

  • An author may present a maximum of six abstracts (of which a maximum of two as first author).
  • When an author presents two abstracts as the first author, he/she must designate one of the co-authors for poster presentation at the time of poster viewing.
  • For each abstract, names of all authors, name of the first author, name of the presenting author (if different from the first author), name of the corresponding author, and correspondence details must be mentioned clearly in the abstract.
  • The first author and the sequence of co-authors positions in the list of authors should be finalized and approved by all members of the research group before abstract submission. No changes will be allowed after the initial submission.
  • The first author/applicant should be the corresponding author for all award category abstracts. The name of the supervisor/s should be included in the list of authors in award category abstracts.
  • The affiliation of each author must be mentioned in the abstract.

Abstract review and decision

  • All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the abstract review committee for quality (novelty/originality, importance of research objectives, appropriateness of methodology, interpretation of the data, style of writing (language, structure, clarity etc.)
  • The corresponding authors will be notified of the decision (acceptance/rejection) of their abstract during the fourth week of December 2024.
